District 51 gets financial transparency award for 19th consecutive year

Grand Junction, CO – For the 19th consecutive year, District 51’s Finance Department is being honored for excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association. D51 Director of Financial Services Vi Crawford, Accounting Supervisor Cara Golden, and Finance Accountant Ashley Zhang will be recognized for this achievement at tonight’s D51 School Board meeting at 6 p.m. in the Harry Butler Board Room at 455 N. 22nd St.

The Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. An impartial panel judged the district’s annual financial report and determined it met the association’s high standards of financial management and transparency yet again this year.
