MusicSpark Orchestra performs May 9

Grand Junction, CO – The MusicSpark nonprofit orchestra program will hold its
Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:15 p.m. The concert will take place at
the Dual Immersion Academy School in the Old Riverside School building
cafeteria located at 552A W. Main Street. The featured guest conductor will be
Mrs. Rachel Lavadie. The concert is free and open to the community.

MusicSpark is El Sistema-inspired and is founded on the principles of leadership
training and character development. It is an after-school program that provides
instruments and professional music instruction free of charge. Instruction
includes violin, singing and percussion and takes place at Dual Immersion from
4:15-5:40 p.m. Monday through Thursday. This community building program includes students from Dual Immersion as well as Caprock Academy and Pomona
Elementary.
